It will carry up to 500 pounds, and it's designed for use with 2-inch hitches. Part number on it is CC-100. I like the floor in this particular carrier. It's the expanded steel so you get lots of good areas for support but the openings are nice and large leaving rocks and chunks of mud and stuff like that will have the opportunity to fall down and out. more

Part number on it is C18151. Now this carrier is going to offer you called kind of a medium size expanded steel floor. We've got room for dirt and debris and stuff to fall through but it's also going to give a lot of good support for even smaller items. It's like we've got a raised rail of about 5 1/2 inches, that's going to go all the way around the outside of the carrier. Give us good area or side to side support front to back support for our gear. more

Today on our 2016 Ford F-150, we're doing a test fit on the Curt 20x60 cargo carrier. This cargo carrier is designed for use in 2-inch hitches and it will carry 500 pounds. The part number on it is C18150. The Curt carrier is going to have kind of a medium-sized expanded steel. It's going to give good support for our gear, but also allow dirt, debris, moisture, and stuff like that to fall down and out. The raised rail all the way around the outside, it's about 5-1/2 inches high, gives us good support for our gear, and also offers us some really nice connection points going around the outside. That way, we can get it all secure once it's loaded up. Here in the very back, we're going to have about 21-1/4 inches worth of ground clearance. more

MaxxTow Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150

Today on our 2012 Ford F150 we've got the MaxxTow 21" x 48" Aluminum Cargo Carrier and we're test fitting it. Now, this cargo carrier is designed to carry up to 500lb and it's also for use with inches hitches. Part number on it is MT70422. This is a very light weight, easy to handle cargo carrier that's one of my favorite things about it. Mainly aluminum construction and the main steel shank running through middle here give us that great capacity. We've got an aluminum sladed for floors, so you can imagine that's going to allow for a lot of dirt and debris and stuff like that to fall down and out. If you plan on transporting really small items maybe not the best plan. As far as the raised edge around the outside it's going to be about two inches high, so that's going to give us plenty of room for stability. more

Stromberg Carlson Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Ford F-150

Today on our 2012 Ford F-150 we've got out the Stromberg Carlson 23x60 cargo carrier, we're going to test fit it. This carrier is designed to carry up to 500 pounds, and it's going to work great with two inch hitches. Part number on it is CC-100. One of the biggest standout features I think about the carrier is the size of the expanded steel floor. That's larger than what we typically see, so even if we've got larger, chunky mud and stuff it should fall down in through there without building up on top of our carrier. We've also got a small raised edge around the outside, you can see that's about two and three quarters of an inch high, offers this stability and also a lot of nice connection points all the way around so we can get our gear secured once we've got it loaded up. Now all told, got about six and a quarter inches of total thickness, so as we put that up against the wall in our garage if you can imagine, it's not going to take up a lot of room. more

Part number on it is C18150. I really like the rail on this carrier. It's a nice high profile, it's going to give us good front to back and side to side stability for our gear. You can see there it measures about 5.5 inches high. The expanded steel that we've got on the floor here, it's going to be along the smaller side so it's going to give up great support for smaller diameter items or something we might be putting on there, but still plenty of room for the dirt and debris to wash down and out. more

The last thing we'll check is going to be our hatch clearance, the tailgate overhang. We got about 13-3/4 inches of clearance there, but you're also covering about 13-3/4 inches of the carrier, so just be aware that if you do plan on stacking materials that very high on your carrier that you may come in contact with that tailgate at some point.
